Terus collaborated closely with Rio Tinto to provide accurate budget pricing and develop a comprehensive logistical strategy, aiming to finalize the pricing by early 2023 and achieve project completion by June of the same year.

The principal objective of this project was to repave the deteriorating sections of a 16 km road, spanning from the Rio Tinto wharf up to the entrance of the power generating facility situated in the mountains. Extensive site visits and meticulous measurements were conducted to assess the extent of repairs needed and identify the most suitable options. Given the remote location, fly-in visits were the only feasible method.
To accommodate Rio Tinto’s specific requirements and financial considerations, Terus presented multiple pricing options, allowing them to choose the solution that best aligned with their budgetary constraints and project objectives.

Upon finalizing the pricing, Terus diligently collaborated with Rio Tinto to coordinate crew transportation via boat and arrange accommodations. Working together, they determined the optimal date for paving, ensuring that the paving crews were prepared to commence work promptly upon the arrival of the asphalt barges. This meticulous planning aimed to ensure the highest quality of paving possible.
The partnership between Terus and Rio Tinto was crucial in delivering a superior road repaving program within the allocated budget while effectively addressing the unique challenges posed by the remote location. This collaborative effort guaranteed the successful completion of the project, meeting the highest standards of quality.
